Wedding planning FAQ's and suggestions

WHAT IS THE TIMELINE FOR BOOKING WITH HAVEN?

Timeline & Payment

1. Terms, conditions, and prices are valid for 2 weeks after the initial consultation. It is recommended that the contract be signed, and deposit made during these 2 weeks to ensure Haven's availability. Price guarantee: 2 weeks. 

2. Deposit payment options: credit card link or venmo link.

3. Once the deposit is received and the contract is signed, you are BOOKED with Haven.

4. Four to six weeks prior to your wedding I will contact you to set up your final consultation. We will finalize all numbers, designs, delivery, etc. Small changes are fine at this point. If you have large changes, please let me know asap.

5. Final payment is due 4 weeks prior to wedding.

6. All floral arrangements will be ready for pick-up or will be delivered at the agreed upon time and date.

HOW IS HAVEN FLOWER FARM DIFFERENT FROM OTHER FLORISTS?

Voted Tri-Cities Favorite Florist in 2025, we're looking at fresh flowers in a new way! We are a local flower farm in Kennewick, Washington. We will source some or all of your wedding flowers from our farm, providing beautiful in-season blooms. Given enough time, we can even grow flowers specifically for you! We also have great relationships with other flower sources, and can accommodate all your flower needs, year-round.

HOW DO I "BOOK" HAVEN FOR MY BRIDAL FLOWERS?

~Submit our Pre-Consultation form, found under the Wedding tab on our home page.
~We do not charge a consultation fee for a full-service wedding.

~ Have your price point in mind. This gives us a place to start and to be creative within the parameters you set.
~ Schedule a 15+ minute phone chat. I never want to waste you or your fiancé's time. And since I love talking about weddings, we'll jump right into it! I am very organized and will walk you through the whole process with ease. And it'll be fun along the way!
~ Please send pictures and provide as many details as you can. The most important being your dream bridal bouquet! Everything in your wedding flower design should stem from your bouquet. I create a vision board for your wedding, from which my team works. The vision board incorporates all your ideas. You will have the opportunity to sign-off on it before the contract is signed.
~ Usually within 48 hours of our initial consultation I'll send you the proposal and contract. It will need a thorough going-over. Make sure it represents your vision, budget, and what we've talked about. Feel free to request changes!

WHAT IF I HAVE CHANGES?

Changes are expected and are usually no problem. After we send out the initial flower proposal, we encourage you to finalize any changes within 2 weeks.

At your final consultation (4-6 weeks.  before your wedding), we'll revisit everything, and make any final changes needed. The final invoice (due 4 weeks before your wedding) will reflect any/all changes and will be the work-order from which our team will design your wedding.

We do not have "change order" charges, but changes can affect the bottom line. 

CAN I GET THE EXACT FLOWERS IN MY FAVORITE LOOK?

Most of the time we can get the exact flowers you're searching for. Some favorite flowers are only available during their season, such as peonies and dahlias. 
Peony season: Mid-May to the end of June.
Dahlia season: Mid-August to mid-October.

DO YOU DELIVER?

Yes. Our set up and delivery fee is relative to distance and amount of set up time required. If delivery is cost-prohibitive, we can prepare your order for pickup. 

DIY

How the DIY process works at Haven:

​

1. Design your arrangements: You will need to create a "recipe" for the stems (blooms and greenery) you want for each piece. I recommend entering the types and quantities into a spreadsheet. Creating your own recipes that reflect your vision is what DIY means. 

2. Time to Chat: Reach out to Haven once you have your list of types and quantities. Please fill out the wedding pre-consultation questionnaire found here on our website. I'll contact you with a time for a phone call.

3. Review & Budget: There is a $50 DIY Fee for the service of reviewing your plan. Included in the service: I'll review your recipes and suggest changes as needed to ensure that you're not over-or under-ordering. I'll secure your flowers, either from our flower farm or from trusted growers and suppliers. I'll prepare all stems for you at the date and time you request. I will coordinate the delivery and store everything in my cold room until they are needed. They will be hydrated and beautiful for you. 

 

How early do I need to book my DIY order?
The sooner the better. We cannot guarantee flowers with any less than 4 weeks' notice.

 

VASES

~ Can we use our own vases? Yes, absolutely. Please be sure to bring your (clean, tape and sticker-free) vases to us at least 2 weeks before the event. (It would be even better to have them at the final consultation.) Measurements of your vessels will be used to give you an estimate of the cost of your centerpieces and arrangements, so it's best to know as early as possible what you'll be using.

DOES HAVEN FLOWER FARM DELIVER NATIONALLY?
